- Mekong-Australia Partnership Alumni
Mekong-Australia Partnership (MAP) alumni are people who have completed Australia Awards MAP Scholarships, Short Courses or Masterclasses funded through MAP. The MAP Alumni network is a vibrant and growing community of nearly 1,300 alumni across five countries in the Mekong subregion: Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar. MAP alumni are part of a regional network of changemakers contributing to inclusive development, innovation and stronger people‑to‑people links within the Mekong subregion, and with Australia.
MAP alumni have access to opportunities designed to enhance their leadership journey, including:
- Professional Development: Exclusive initiatives and skills-building resources.
- Networking & Collaboration: Opportunities to connect with diverse leaders across the subregion.
- Targeted Support: Resources to help amplify alumni impact at organisational and community level.
MAP alumni work with each other to develop inclusive solutions on development challenges confronting the Mekong subregion.
- MAP Alumni Regional Impact Grants
The MAP Alumni Regional Impact Grants (ARIG) provide funding to MAP alumni to design and implement collaborative, cross-country projects that address shared development challenges within the Mekong subregion, in the following areas:
- improving water security
- promoting climate change resilience
- preventing and countering transnational crime
- enhancing economic resilience and subregional integration
- supporting inclusive development for a more equitable future
Each grant provides up to AUD20,000 to support activity implementation. These projects combine regional linkages, innovative solutions and the expertise of our alumni community to address real-world challenges. The first round of the MAP ARIG was launched in early 2026, generating significant interest from MAP alumni.
